Dr. Moran Tal Gavriel obtained her Bachelor in Animal Science in 2003, and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2008. Following her initial work as a clinician, she performed several public health roles, inclusive of a governmental role associated with registration and certification of animal feed. This role further ignited her interest in animal and clinical nutrition. Therefore, Dr. Tal Gavriel continued her education in a combined program – doctoral degree (Doctor of Veterinary Science, DVSc) and residency training in comparative clinical nutrition, at the Department of Clinical Studies and the Ontario Veterinary College respectively, at the University of Guelph, and graduated in 2018. Her research mainly focused on feline obesity and gastrointestinal microbiome, and generated several research manuscripts. She continued to serve as an Advisory Board member at the University of Guelph for graduate students and became board certified specialist by the European College of Veterinary Comparative Nutrition (ECVCN) in early 2021.
In 2018 Dr. Tal Gavriel joined Royal Canin as Nutrition Expert, supported formulation and research, and successfully advocated for nutritional standards for healthy and sick animals in several countries around the world.She is excited to join Central Toronto Veterinary Referral Clinic and Ethos Veterinary Health as a Veterinary Nutritionist, where she aims to apply her expertise, research experience, and dedication to advancing the field of veterinary nutrition to improve the health and well-being of pets. Dr. Moran Tal Gavriel is passionate about educating pet owners and veterinary professionals on the importance of proper nutrition in animal health. She believes in a holistic approach to veterinary medicine, combining her clinical knowledge with her research background to provide comprehensive care for her patients.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Tal Gavriel enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, and exploring nature. She is also an avid reader and loves to keep up with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine and nutrition.
