Dr. Bernstein graduated from Ross University in 2017, and spent her final year as a veterinary student at Royal Veterinary College in the United Kingdom. She practiced as an Emergency Veterinarian in Southern California where she went on to complete her rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery. She completed a specialty internship in Oncology at Mississippi State University, a Clinical Trials internship at the University of Illinois, and then her residency in Oncology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Dr. Bernstein is especially interested in the multimodal treatment of canine and feline lymphomas/leukemias and in giving her patients the best possible quality of life. She feels the most rewarding part of her work is interacting with her patients and clients to guide them through the best treatment options for their particular needs.

In her free time, Dr. Bernstein enjoys watching her beloved Toronto Maple Leafs and reading books of all genres while cuddled up with her cat, Mr. Darcy. She is so excited to return to Toronto after 10 years and can’t wait to broaden access to veterinary oncology in the city!
